Emerging structure of Indian economy: a state-wise analysis - 2006 - p.337-68. - Apr-Jun

In this paper, the author examines the changing economic structure of different states in the process of development in India. The transition witnessed in most of the states to a post-industrial `service economy' without passing through a process of industrialization has been noted as a major weakness of the outcome of the development process undertaken in the country during the last 50 years. State level analysis indicates the policy directions that should be pursued in future so that sector disparities in NSDP and employment pattern are reduced. - Reproduced.
