Despite the amount of aid coming into Africa, poverty has continued to deepen and the majority of people have become poorer. Although some plans may have initially shown a promising future (allebit on a small scale), they have now been hampered and are in dire need of an economic revival. This article highlights the origins and routes through which international aid is channelled, analyses its impact and takes a close look at Africa's compulsions, in view of the neo-colonialistic, character and goals of the policies implemented by developed nations. - Reproduced.
