Public sector jurisdictions as well as management policies and practices are being questioned to the point of bringing about a major reorientation and restructuring of governmental organisations and their powers. There is a growing expectation to introduce such changes in economies and administrations which may enable them to comply with the imperatives of globalisation. A greater efficiency, economy and effectiveness in public management is expected to be brought about through a reorganisation and reorientation of governments functioning.
