The paper argues that US policies in Latin America were essentially similar to colonialism even though they did not involve formal incorporation of territories. The relationship was characterized by both exploitation and subordination. It has also resulted in what has been called the development of underdevelopment. Within the basic theoretical framework, statistical data has been examined to substantiate the view. - Reproduced. aColonialism aResearch Journal Social Sciences aN a81019 c81019d81019 00104070aIIPAbIIPAd2018-07-19hVolume no: 14, Issue no: 3pAR81479r2018-07-19w2018-07-19yAR
