Voluntary organisations and ICDS

Voluntary organisations have been considered superior to the Government organisations in implementing programmes like the ICDS which entails support of the community. This study explodes this myth. However, special features possessed by some of these organisations have been recognised and recommendations have been made to make use of them in implementing the ICDS. The report also highlights the difficulties being faced by them in getting grants-in-aid from the government and makes recommendations to mitigate such problems as far as possible. Reproduced
