Eminent judges were vociferous in seeking freedom of information and disclosure of records under the custody of the public authorities. Raj Narain and S.B. Gupta judgments are the real pillars over which edifice of information law is standing today. However, the controversial statements in the later days about the assets of judges have created serious doubts in the minds of the people about validity and workability of access laws.
