Social inclusion strategies and the national rural employment guarantee scheme - 2009 - p.829-838. - Oct-Dec

A country with an unequal distribution of opportunities and wealth can never promise long-term security and stability. the approach paper to the eleventh Five Year Plan stresses the importance of more inclusive growth. In response to this, the governments have already come up with new welfare schemes to address the social exclusion that exists in various forms. To achieve the objectives of the inclusive growth, concerted efforts are needed for breaking the cycles of deprivation and reducing poverty led social exclusion while implementing the various proposed inclusion strategies. The present article tries to emphasise the imperatives of effective service delivery in implementing the various social inclusion strategies like National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). - Reproduced.
