With the help of currently available data and some future projections this article attemkpts to gauge the success of regulatory exercise. It examines the level of compliance by the players and effectiveness of directions and guidelines of the regulators. While analysing regulatory authorities endeavours to strike balance between entrepreneur and consumers and level of people's confidence in these matters, the article makes some recommendations for improvement in the regulatory process.
