  <abstract>Tourism as an evolving and defined activity is also developing various niche areas in its wake. Medical tourism is one such emerging area that is ripe with potential. Developing as a common forum of vacationing with a broad spectrum of medical services, it has taken roots as a combination of leisure, relaxation and healthcare. This article focuses on the worldwide trends in medical tourism vis-�-vis medical tourism in India.
