This is achieved (among others) through a wide-ranging IT strategy focusing on e-Governance for bringing effectiveness, liability and transparency in all its public services. It has helped in extending the reach of real time information even to the remotest corner of the country. Today E-Ticketing service of the Indian Railways accounts for a major chunk of all tickets booked online throughout the length and breadth of India. The broad objective of the present study is to analyse how the e-Ticketing service of the Indian Railways has benefited the students from India's technical institutions and the way e-Ticketing system has been embraced by the student community in the country's premier colleges.
