Material type: materialTypeLabelBookPublisher: Productivity Description: 62(4), Jan-Mar, 2022: p.377-386.Subject(s): Child health deprivation In: ProductivitySummary: This paper assesses the child health deprivation ratio, intensity, and determinants of multidimensional child health deprivation in West Bengal using unit level data from the two latest rounds, 2005- 06 and 2015-16, of the National Family Health Survey. Our analysis shows that children were more deprived in terms of health rather than in terms of nutrition, sanitation, and safe drinking water. Child health deprivation in West Bengal has decreased significantly over time, but still remains a major concern. Ordered logistic regression illustrates that higher education levels, health insurance, supplementary nutrition and other services from ICDS play a vital role in reducing child deprivation in West Bengal. – Reproduced
