The following study examines some of the major global environmental issues which have emerged as a result of excessive unrestricted exploitation of the natural resources and hence, needs instantaneous remedy. The paper considers rapid population growth as a major challenge towards environmental sustainability and calls for the use of renewable sources of energy for the purpose of economic activities. – Reproduced
