Technology has touched many spheres of our lives in India. There is a technology in business, education, banking, agriculture, communication and almost every part of our life. Indian police are also stepping towards using/applying the technology in the policing, hence Police have been trying to reduce themselves to the paper and pen, a traditional method of policing, which may not reach up to the mark of expectations of police and people to provide law & order and justice. According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2017 Report Tealagana State stands at 9 with 17,521 cases of crime against women. And Police-public ratio is 218 for every one lakh people in the state. This means 1.47 police per 458 citizens. Against this backdrop, telangana police have felt that digitalization of police department is the need of the hour. This helps to control various crimes like eve-teasing, harassment, rape, human trafficking, Child Marriages, Cyber-Crimes, Money laundering, Terror attacks etc. This paper discusses the Digitalization of telangana State police and various IT applications for the safety and security of women and Crime detection. – Reproduced
