Bihar Journal of Public AdministrationSummary: In post-cold war period, the global power dynamics has witnessed a sea of change due to emergence of unipolar world and dominance of traded in international relations. India also has to change its policy of strategic dependence on Russia which is further influenced by trends of global trade. With the beginning of 21st century, the growing China’s influence in Asian region, India required to diversify its foreign policy away from Moscow and foster a strategic partnership with Washington. India’s alliance with the US has become increasingly crucial in addressing perceived threats and safeguarding its interests in the region. The situation makes it imperative to assess India’s strategic vision especially its inclination towards better relation with United States of America. Thus the present paper intends to examine the factors influencing India’s inclination towards US. It finds that the rise of corporate influence, cultural nationalism and influence of Bhartiye Janta Party have cemented India’s inclination towards a closer relationship with US. – Reproduced
