Despite efforts by the United Nations (UN) and world leaders to negotiate a settlement, the war persists. However, recent developments suggest that a potential ceasefire may be gaining momentum. If a ceasefire is achieved, establishing a monitoring mechanism will be crucial to ensure its effectiveness. Two key challenges will arise: determining the mechanism's structure and deciding on participant composition. The possibility of deploying UN peacekeepers to oversee the ceasefire has been discussed.
