| 520 | _aManagement by Objectives (MBO) has come to be known as the process of setting objective in the organisation to give a sense of direction to the employees and make them aware about what they are supposed to do at the workplace by defining their roles and responsibilities thus helping them chalk out their future course of action in the organisation. It moulds planning, directing and controlling in a number of ways. The emerging management technique aims at stimulating meaningful action for better performance and higher accomplishment. Suggested by the management guru Peter Drucker in early 1950s, MBO enjoyed huge popularity but there also emerged some questions due to its rigidity and its emphasis on setting clear goods, however, it has been vindicated and remains a popular management technique. - Reproduced. | ||
