520 _a"The article deals with the amendments brought about in the existing Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 1959 to bring it in conformity with the Constitution (Seventy-fourth Amendment) Act, 1992 in contrast with the repealing of the law relating to the Panchayati Raj institutions and enactment of altogether a new law viz. the Rajasthan Panchayat Act 1994. It notes that the amended Act already contained certain provisions which, with further amendments, was very close to the provisions of the 74th Constitution Amendment. Yet another feature of the amended law is that instead of enacting a specific Act for Municipal Corporations, the amended law itself provides for the creation of Municipal Corporations. It specifies the amendments to bring it in line with the Constitution Amendment".
