520 _aThe Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) initiated by the Government of India in the early nineties with the objective of taking the economy along the path of sustained economic growth has had an adverse impact on employment in the organised sector, thus, bringing to the fore the problem of redundancy. In this paper the author succinctly analyses the implications of SAP for the employment and training scenerio in the country.
