520 _aThe article aims at providing first a comprehensive review of the East and South-East Asian Crisis (ESEAC) in the post-1997 period and portraying its projections in the economic, social and political dimensions of the various Asian countries. The reflections of the crisis in all the above-mentioned aspects would be traced and highlighted here in some details. The authors would, in the end, try to summarise precisely and pointedly the lessons of this devastating crisis which are of great import for all the developing and Newly Industrialising Economies (NIEs) of the third world in general and of India as well in particular. The impact of this crisis on the treatises of socio-economic development of the countries would also be carefully examined. - Reproduced
