On the other hand present Union Government, has placed greater premium on it by establishing a separate Ministry to strengthen the cooperative movement. Thus the present paper intends to underline the usefulness of cooperatives and prospects of the newly formed Ministry. It addresses the questions like how cooperative societies are instrumental in the Indian economy by creating values for their stakeholders in multiple ways such as mutualism, prosperity, inclusion, sustainable development, democratic outlook and financial support.
