| 520 | _aThe global problems in the form of poverty, hunger, gender equality, climate change, etc need to be solved as early as possible to have a better future for mankind. In this regard, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development or the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by 194 countries of the United Nations in the year 2015 to be achieved by 2030 is a very important task. In a country like India with its huge population and existence of a federal system of governance (i.e., other than the Central government, the role of State governments and local governments are also important) in achieving SDGs. Therefore, against this backdrop, the present article discusses the performance of Districts in the North Eastern States of India towards achieving the UN SDGs. It finds that though achievements in the region are encouraging but certain areas need to be given special care. – Reproduced | ||
