520 _aThe people’s participation or Jan Bhagidari symbolises the essence of democracy. It not only strengthens the country’s democratic system but can set a global precedent as to how the contribution of every single citizen can make a nation a robust global leader. This article assesses the significance of the Constitution, democracy and the idea of constitutional democracy and the role of citizen-centred governance. It illuminates the changing role of people-centric administration, and the initiatives taken to amplify the citizen-centric approach to further reinforce the confidence and conviction of the people in the nation-building process, which is a vital component of good governance. Moreover, the article conveys a suitable way forward to make administration more citizen-centric by putting the best foot forward, while justifying democracy in its true sense as a paradigm shift to the ideal of Minimum Government–Maximum Governance. – Reproduced .
