520 _aMental wellbeing of students in college campuses have direct impact on their performance. Hence, there is need to trace the anxiety level for suggesting appropriate policy at the institutions of higher education. With this view in mind, two hundred college students, randomly drawn from degree colleges of Motihari (Bihar), participated in a study to find out the dimensions of personality predicting the magnitudes of anxiety. Nine personality dimensions were examined as predictors of anxiety which was the predicted variable. Results showed that emotional stability and friendliness were negatively and heterosexuality, decisiveness and curiosity dimensions of personality positively predicted the magnitudes of anxiety. The prediction model contained only five out of the nine predictors and the remaining four predictors such as responsibility, masculinity, ego-strength and dominance did not relate to anxiety significantly.- Reproduced http://www.iipabiharbranch.org/
