520 _aThis article delves into the complex journey of senior military leaders as they navigate the path from tactical proficiency to strategic leadership, exploring the challenges and the critical changes they encounter, in the roles and responsibilities that accompany this transition. Strategic leadership involves making decisions that affect the military’s overall direction and long-term goals. Tactical leaders are responsible for ensuring that units effectively achieve their goals within the scope of their assigned tasks. However, the modern environment of national security adopts a ‘Whole of Nation Approach’ which has to be embraced and adopted by military leaders at all levels.
