| 520 | _aPsychological well being has been the focus of intense research attention in recent years. Life satisfaction is also a key indicator of well being (Ryff & Keyes, 1995). The present investigation was undertaken to study the impact of Group (Awarded, Suspended & Average) and Rank (Junior, Senior) on satisfaction with life. The sample of the present investigation consisted of 168 male police functionaries (56 Awarded, 56 Suspended and 56 Average) belonging to two ranks Junior Rank and Senior Rank (84 in each Rank) in the age range of 25 to 57 years who had a minimum of at least 3 years of continuous service in the police organization. They were all non-IPS policemen belonging to the state of Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh. Statistical techniques were used and the results were good and significant showing average police functionaries low on satisfaction with life. Policy makers thus should emphasize making average police functionaries performance oriented so that they feel satisfied with their lives and perform better at their work place.- Reproduced https://bprd.nic.in/uploads/pdf/IPJ%20Oct-Dec%202018%20(for%20web).pdf | ||
