520 _aEffective service delivery has been the crux of good governance and employees’ motivation plays important role in it. With this assumption in mind, it becomes imperative to mark the impact of employees’ motivation on their performance, especially at the point of public interface. In the present era of public management, the human resource management acquires significance. Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has been at the crucial juncture in providing appropriate public health infrastructure. As such, the present study intends to mark the level and impact of motivational factor on the performance of the staff of PHED field offices, located in Patna. A survey of fifty employees working in field offices of PHED was conducted for the purpose.
