| 520 | _aIt has been globally recognised that children are the precious resource and future of a society and they must have opportunities to develop their personality. International bodies have articulated their rights and state parties have agreed to ensure their rights in their respective countries. On the contrary, it is matter of grave concern that rights of children in India are being ignored evident from the fact that they are subject to poor health, education and economic conditions. No doubt laws and programmes for ensuring their rights as enshrined by international bodies and adopted by national governments, but the desired goal is yet to be achieved. This makes an urgent imperative to examine the concerned laws, judicial measures and their implementation. It intends to diagnose the problems in the laws and suggest remedies. As such the present paper attempts to pinpoint the position of children and address the issues like disparities, child abuse, effective implementation of laws and aspects of Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act 2011.- Reproduced http://www.iipabiharbranch.org/upload/BJPA_Vol.%20XXI%20No.%201(S)%20Jan-June.%202024.pdf | ||
