520 _aMentoring is a traditional concept that has lingered for years. Experienced employees in organisations have chosen mentees and mentored them which has helped in the growth of younger employees. However, recently, in the late 1990s, Jack Welch, the former CEO of GE used the concept of reverse mentoring to teach senior executives on how to use the internet. Although, previously, reverse mentoring was used to teach senior employees few technical skills and the usage of the internet, its usage extends far beyond the same. Now it is used to think about the culture, leadership and other strategic issues. So, reverse mentoring is the concept of younger employees mentoring the older employees in the organisation. There has been various studies and literature in the past with regards to reverse mentoring which is fragmented in nature.
