520 _aThe link between India and Sri Lanka dates back more than 2,500 years. In the contemporary world order, Sri Lanka has emerged as an unavailable actor in the Indian Ocean Region, yet closely located and associated with India. One of the key forces promoting regional collaboration in Asia is South- South cooperation. In the areas of development, education, culture, and defense, as well as commerce and investment, there has been a surge in bilateral cooperation. One of India's major development partners, Sri Lanka, has played a significant role in the bilateral ties between the two countries throughout the years. while examining the two nations' collective experience with development cooperation. This study will bring out the significant effectiveness of South-South Cooperation in fostering Development Cooperation between India and Sri Lanka. The scope of the study will be including the development assistance India has offered to Sri Lanka which has been experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis for the last two years. This study will offer some policy recommendations for the Island and provide a report to India for their future development cooperation activities towards sustainable economic development and strong economic ties between the two countries.
