| 520 | _aDespite considerable improvements in enrolment, India’s school education system is characterised by a hierarchy that reflects and reinforces social inequalities. This article argues that differential arrangements of schooling legitimised in our society and unaddressed in national policy are not only inherently inegalitarian but also in direct opposite to constitutional morality and the vision of school education as an instrument to create an inclusive society. School differentiation has become so entrenched in our society that policy does not even care to oppose it. – Reproduced https://www.epw.in/journal/2025/34/commentary/unequal-schooling-india.html | ||
