520 _a Bihar has seen a steady flow of people leaving for domestic cities and international destinations. This is primarily due to poverty, unemployment, and a lack of industrial growth. The diaspora's most apparent contribution has been sending money back home, which is a big help with education, healthcare, and household spending. However, there are still a lot of other high-impact contributions that are not used enough, like sharing knowledge, lobbying for political change, investing in businesses, and working together across borders. Thus, in the light of the mission of Viksit Bharat@2047, the present article looks at the Bihari diaspora's potential for development, especially in light of Eastern India's long-standing social and economic problems and the high rates of people leaving the country. On the basis of analysis, the study suggests several policy changes that could help change diaspora engagement from a passive remittance-based model to a more active and participatory development strategy. These include setting up the Bihar Diaspora Engagement Council (BDEC), making the “Bihar Connect” digital portal, giving out diaspora fellowships, and starting cultural and educational exchange programs.- Reproduced http://www.iipabiharbranch.org/upload/BJPA_Vol.%20XXII%20No%201_S%20%20Jam-June%202025.pdf
