| 520 | _a Concerted policy efforts for improving energy efficiency are essential to manage rising energy requirements and to ensure energy security. The energy efficiency policy efforts of South Asian countries are quantified by developing a typology of energy efficiency policy measures that have been proposed and implemented across key sectors in these countries. A score is assigned to a country to reflect its energy efficiency policy efforts. These scores are adjusted for the scope of the impact of the policies. There is substantial scope to increase energy efficiency policy efforts for all South Asian countries. India and Sri Lanka lead in respect of policy efforts. The rest of the countries should focus on implementing their proposed energy efficiency policies. – Reproduced https://www.epw.in/journal/2025/39/policy-framework-and-efforts-improving-energy.html | ||
