| 520 | _aMost studies on agricultural diversification are bound to create the very problems they aim to address. The claim that diversification, whether within or beyond agriculture, is an economic panacea in itself is seriously flawed. Furthermore, many conceptual constructs, such as value or high value, that dominate mainstream economic discourse are based on shaky foundations. Ultimately, any serious policymaking on appropriate strategies for structural and sustainable economic transformation cannot be a piecemeal exercise. Therefore, lessons related to economic–structural and agroecological contextualisation must be at the forefront, drawing our attention to the centrality of the overall macroeconomic policy regime.-Reproduced https://www.epw.in/journal/2025/48/special-articles/agricultural-diversification-india.html | ||
