520 _aThis paper investigates the impact of anti-dumping policy in India. Contrary to official claims, the analysis finds that the policy has a substantial impact on the quantity and unit value of the investigated products. Furthermore, it examines possible motives behind initiation of anti-dumping investigations and concludes that non-economic factors are prime determinants of investigation. The policy seems to be failing its objective and deserves reconsideration. Finally, this paper suggests a broadening of the horizon of the anti-dumping law, controlling the misuse of its ambiguities to provide undesirable protection to domestic industries and modifying the law to serve the larger interests of the economy. - Reproduced.
