As the title suggests, the current article provides valuable solutions to the continuing and alarming water crisis situation that our country is facing at the moment. According to the author. Dr. Devendra Nath, IFS. Professor and Head, Parivesh, Centre for Environment, YASHADA, there is tremendous potential for minimising the water scarcity problem if we appropriately plan and adopt certain strategies for conserving this life-giving resource. These include the adoption of various water harvesting techniques, especially rooftop rainwater harvesting. The author opines that the government should adopt a national water policy and water action agenda incorporating the necessary regulations that would help in sustaining and protecting this natural resources. Besides, he feels that people's awareness about water conservation and their participation also plays a crucial role in this effort. - Reproduced.
