This symposium is a effort to extend the Pay Equity (PE) dialogue into the 1990s. Nancy Burns, and Michael Graham and Albert Hyde focus on the institutional dimensions of the struggle for PE. Paula England and Barbara Kilbourne, and Philip Benson and Jeffrey Harnsby offer studies which show the interplay between the technical and human dimensions of PE policy in their consideration of the job evaluation process. The essays, by Martin and Thorsin-Hamm and Ames provide with two fine peeks at PE in a cross-national perspective.
