Through cooperative efforts agro based industries like oil mills, small rice mills, dal mills, dairy plants etc., in remote areas could help in providing employment to the rural youth in a very large measure. Setting up of agro-services centres by cooperative marketing and service societies in rural areas would also help in providing employment. If rural development has to gain strength, then the economic and social life of the rural poor, consisting of small and marginal farmers, landless labourers, tenants and other weaker sections must be improved through providing them subsidiary occupations. - Reproduced |
