Summary, etc. A framework has been developed here to match MIS integration strategies with business acquisition characteristics (overall acquisition strategy, acquisition type, and acquisition goal). Three types of MIS integration strategies were used: maintenance, synthesis, and replacement. In order to exemplify the fit between MIS integration strategy and business acquisition, a case study of business acquisition in East Asia is used. This business acquisition has an overall strategy of absorption, horizontal acquisition type of market extension, and acquisition goal of domain strengthening. The experiences of users - both positive and negative - in the course of MIS integration changes are also described in the case study. - Reproduced.
