Neo liberalism, caste and gender in rural Bihar: An analysis based on web series Nirmal Pathak ki Wapsi

Set in a village in Bihar, the series has recently drawn a lot of attention for addressing the socio-political and gender issues prevalent in the contemporary rural society in India, especially in Bihar. The present attempt intends to analyze the discussion offered by the web series on the contemporary socio-political and cultural problems of rural Indian society pertaining to caste and gender. It further attempts to understand the credibility of proposed reformist approaches within neoliberal societies. It also underlines the paradoxes inherent in such approaches and their ideological construct in the garb of psychodynamics and gender discourse. – Reproduced
