By: Pradhan, Debasis.
Material type: materialTypeLabelBookPublisher: Management and Labour Studies Description: 49(4), Nov, 2024: p.565-567. In: Management and Labour StudiesSummary: I am pleased to bring you the new issue of Management and Labour Studies (MLS). This latest issue of MLS comprises a collection of empirical and conceptual research articles. The articles examine multiple relevant issues that advance managerial decision-making research, elucidate factors that impact employee job satisfaction, extend the literature on cyberbullying at work and evaluate effective leadership attributes. The research investigations undertaken by Basu and colleagues assess the outcomes of organisation downsizing and propose a strategic approach to minimize the impact of layoffs on separated employees, associates and co-workers. While an optimized workforce remains a desirable organizational setup, employee turnover intention remains uncontrolled in some sectors. Chaichi and co-authors explore the intangible factors of employee turnover intention by analysing the responses of hotel employees in Malaysia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on their investigation of the impact of staff core personality on employees’ attitude towards the organization, the authors suggest practices that can help in maintaining a sustainable workforce in the hotel industry.- Reproduced https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/0258042X241286644
